Tita Larasati was born and bred in Jakarta. She moved to Bandung to pursue her study in Industrial Design at the Faculty of Art and Design, Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), where she now works as a lecturer and researcher.
After living in The Netherlands for nearly 10 years to pursue her study at Design Academy Eindhoven and Delft University of Technology, she returned to Bandung in 2007. Then, in 2008, along with other 40 creative people in Bandung, she co-founded Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF) and served as the coordinator of Creative Entrepreneur Network (CEN-BCCF) (2008-2012) and as the General Secretary (2013-2017).
She was the coordinator of the Creative Economy task group of Jokowi-JK Transition House in 2014, and also contributed as the main author for Bandung dossier team for UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). Tita is considered the pioneer of graphic diary genre in Indonesia, and co-founded CAB, a thriving independent publishing company that focuses on graphic diary, travelogue and children’s comics.
In 2015, she was appointed as the Chairperson of Bandung Creative Economy Committee, with the main task to map the potentials and activation of creative economy ecosystem in Bandung.
